methods of mind

Meditation. Hypnosis. Mindfulness. Relaxing.

Are these all the same thing, or what?

Yes and no. They all have things in common, but they all are totally different in the end..

Let's go into here..

Meditaatio

meditation

The word "meditation" gives images of peace of mind and full control of the mind. And of course these images include buddhist monks in their orange gowns, sitting cross-legged.

What is meditation? What can it be?

I define meditation to be "calming your mind down". Also, meditation has the aspect of a human being as a divine creature, bigger and greater than the visible body only. Having a soul. Having a meaning to exist. Meditation is loving. Loving everything that exists and understanding that there is a greater force that runs everything we see - as a whole. And that force is the energy of love.

First of all, the brainwaves slow down when I sit down and breath slowly. Slow, peaceful breath tells my body to calm down. My body calming down means that an enormous amount of hormonal chemicals change in my body. My brain sends messages all around my body, telling about the breath slowing and gives new directions to the hormonal centers to lower my stress hormones and lift the positive hormones processing. These changes again help my body to relax more, into even better state of pleasure and my body informs my brain with a supportive impulse to continue to this direction. And the brain re-informs my hormonal centres of new information. This communication happens in one hundredth parts of seconds back and forth, creating a continuously better feeling to my body. Only one disturbing this harmony is.. All around splurging thoughts of my conscious mind..

I remember when I tried to meditate the very first time, trying NOT to think any thoughts. And very soon noticing that it is not gonna work. It was difficult - or should I say - impossible. Well, later I received an advice to give my mind something beautiful to think during the meditative moment. When my mind was reserved to think a thought I wanted it to think, those thoughts that I did not want to think would stay away. If my mind was occupied, it was not able to think of shopping lists or dentist appointments. I actually got into meditating only a few years ago when I met the right people, there was the right moment and enough time. I learned, that it is easier to meditate with a tape where there is music or a story. Or a real human telling that story. If you ever have meditated, you might have heard some of this kind of phrases:

"And now, turn inwards, let your thoughts go and feel the beautiful energy of your heart."

"Pay attention into the center of your heart. Breath in through your nose to your heart instead of your lungs and when you breath out, breath to your heart.."

"Make a connection into the light of love. See yourself shining bright in a golden light."

"Imagine a light, going through you, inside you, continuing upwards into the sun and even to the greater suns, all the way to the source. And this light is connected to the inner core of Mother Earth, Mother Gaia, like the roots of a tree growing downwards, deep into our precious Earth."

"Concentrate to your forehead, to the area between your eyes, right above your eyebrows. Feel your third eye activating, feel the energy and let it shine and emerge to all parts of your body."

If you never have meditated or even heard any tapes, this may sound very confusing. But they all are true as images of energy of life and love existing and moving along with our intention and at the same time they are beautiful and gentle ways to metaphorically stop this so busy and stressful life and mind for a moment. These metaphoras give our mind something beautiful and peaceful to think and feel. It is a mental image - remember - when our brain calms down, it starts to function rather with images than with words. These images are in the right side of the brain where our dreamworld situates. It is tremendously easier to relax your mind thinking something really beautiful rather than empty them totally. Maybe our brain never was designed to be empty, ever. If the brain is empty, the owner usually is no longer here, right? So, beautiful thoughts that fit into your belief system or religion are the best rest for your mind.

hypnosis

Clinical Hypnotherapy has been researched to be an efficient method when dealing with subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy has been researched a lot, but the amount of wide range reports is pretty much less than there is of other medically acknowledged methods. This in fact does not mean that hypnotherapy was less effective than for instance psychotherapy. The method of psychotherapy sessions is to work with the conscious mind in conscious state of awareness, the goal is to change the views and attitudes all the way from the conscious to the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy on the other hand approaches the same views and attitudes from the subconscious mind to finally perform all the way to the conscious mind and reality. The subconscious mind is reached in a state of trance. In that state of awareness the subconscious mind of the client accepts "hypnotic language". This hypnotic language with pictures and metaforas is not similar than talking to a conscious mind.

Measurable features of a trance are among other things the changes in brainwave lengths, starting from awake state beta waves to alpha and theta waves. These brainwave patterns are also states of relaxation and inevitably remind a lot of meditative states and other mindfullness states of concentration and relaxation.

Hypnotherapy is beneficial for most of us and it is more than a mentionable option to calm and control your mind if meditation does not sound to be suitable for your belief system. Daily sessions of self-hypnosis is actually just as beneficial to improve all the functions and rest in your brain - maybe even more better. See, it is up to you to choose any researched mindset there is - just for you to work with!

mindfulness

Minfulness is a little bit of a different case than meditation. My understanding is that mindfulness teaches you to live present and conscious of your life, performing your life aware of what you are doing and noticing how you feel when doing that specific action. Through this concept you will find the happiness into your life, living present and finding the happiness and gratitude right there, in everything that you do and experience. All mindfulness practices are inevitably based on brainwaves slowing down while relaxing and concentrating into something - for instance "a raisin" - and this is how the mind calms down and you learn to target your focus intentionally. Concentrating into what you do right now you don't let your mind to think of your stress or anything else that would bring you down, instead you will feel gratitude of actually having food on your table and clean water to drink and so on. This is one way to increase the state of happiness in oneself.  Mindfulness does not have any spiritual aspect. Though, it is pretty much unlikely to experience anything too mystical when concentrating on "a raisin" or washing dishes. Mindfulness brings you to live your life present at the moment and forwards you to feel gratitude of everything you have and everything you do.

daydreaming

Daydreaming is a way to get a hint of a moment of bliss. You may lie down on your couch and let your mind wander around what you want. Then you find your mind creating images and pictures of you expressing your life with that something that you dream of. You are able to feel how it feels when you have everything you now dream of. Smile on your face stands for all the good hormones running through your veins. And when you come up from your daydream, you feel awesome! You were somewhere else for a moment. You have now so much of energy to continue your day.

What did you receive? Now that you had a daydream of something you really want? You received a vision of your future. You became more than motivated to look up to that moment where you really have it. You became motivated to go to work and wake up again tomorrow. You received hope, that one day you will have that. You received a message of a possibility. A possibility that your image just might become reality at some point. A message of a possibility that you just might one day feel that happiness you just felt. You received a huge bunch of beneficial hormones within you and your body. You received an outstanding load of energy, filling up every cell in your body. And now you are ready to go for it.

What if you had continued? To go even deeper into a trance or that image, filled with pleasure? What if you had continued, deeper and deeper into your picture and emotions and there came a moment when you started to feel like it was true in that moment? The magic moment, the moment of bliss would have entered you.

magical moment

The moment of bliss? What is that then? Physically it is a state where your brainwaves have slowed down into the delta area and jumped up to the gamma. And as we know, your brain does what you think. It controls all your hormonal functions along your thoughts and feelings. If you then are able to raise a strong feeling when thinking of - whatever - your brain suddenly lets your body to feel all the good and even miraculously strong endorphins all around your body. And there you are - experiencing a moment of bliss.

The magic moment is in the end a combination of three things. First, brain wave lengths going down and their level define one aspect of the depth of the moment of bliss. Secondly, concentration is the key element and probably the most challenging aspect to concur. How to keep the mind focused into one specific thing or issue, though it would be the most desirable thing one can imagine? Third aspect is a feeling or emotion of gratitude, happiness or something powerfully positive. The challenge is to strengthen an emotion into a heart filling level at the specific, present moment.

how to find it

First, you need to really love yourself enough, remove all the obstacles from your subconscious mind to form an understanding that you really deserve all the good in the world, you deserve to make your dream come true. If you have a belief in your system that makes you resist "really" wanting something more than ever - above the power of words and letters only - forming a feeling of receiving is difficult. So, first thing would be finding the obstacles and beliefs that causes effects from your subconscious mind - and change them.

Now when these obstacles that prevent you to feel full are decreased or even diminished into not relevant or existing, we can start the work with feelings and emotions. We all have had good moments before at some point of our lives, so during a trance state it is possible to seek out that moment and start working with it, strengthening it to magnify the levels of that emotion, memorise it in the body again and again until it becomes possible to bring it up whenever wanted. Not an easy target either, but definitely worth of practicing.

Then, combining these two elements - with a relaxation method suitable for you - will in the end take you where ever you want to go, forward towards your dreams and happiness. And - to be honest, the road to experiencing all this is the best thing you can think to give to your body and your health. See this, there are more than thousand different kind of beneficial hormones that splash through your body every time you let them flow into your systems. Healing and re-correction of your cells and physical systems, not to mention your brain and heart receiving rest and capabilities to function in balance, optionally every day and every second, come to you as an inevitable side effect - every time you work and practice for yourself.

Like said, meditation as an act is always connected to a spiritual concept. When we think of what happens in the brainwaves in hypnosis, it is the same phenomenon than with meditation. Or daydreaming. Or whatever calms your mind down and there is concentrating involved. If you want to give your mind and brain a moment of rest and pleasure without any spiritual aspect, you can always choose hypnosis. Hypnosis is a great way to get out of this stressful world, in addition you can choose the practise for your benefit. It is reasonable to claim that theta brainwaves are reachable very quickly, even for you yourself at home. Just like meditating, self hypnosis on a daily basis helps you to go to deeper and deeper brainwave states and healing your body without the spiritual context around you.

The differences between all those methods are defined by the intention.

Brainwaves have been researched again and again within our western medical society and now it is done also in mental/spiritual concepts. One of the most credible persons lecturing about meditation and the power of human brain and mind is Dr. Joe Dispenza. He is researching how body-mind connection works and how do the miracles really happen. I recommend to get to know his work if you are interested in our modern science. How it is reaching out to prove the existence of the divine spirit in a human being. And you may want to check out the tab Mysteries of Mind to see my point of view to healing and connecting.  How I got so deep into this issue, seeing miracles happen.

This mind-body connection, meditation and hypnosis included, as one topic is so huge that it is not possible to express all the facts in just one page. So if you are interested in WHATEVER one can do with its mind and body - whether it is healing or transferring energy or whatever, with or without any spiritual aspect - dive into our site and become a member. soundtrack

This tape was created for you to receive assistance with calming your mind. We have combined voices - beautiful voices of nature, comforting and gentle voices - with silence. The silent moments are moments of anticipation while your mind may wander exactly where you want it to wander. No words, only your own inner thoughts and feelings. Sounds to which you are able to give a meaning, the most valuable and significant purpose.

Give yourself a moment.

The moment of perfection.

With Love.

Forest:

-bright warblings to lead you into a peace of mind. To be. To go. To stop. As you wish.

Invitation:

-soft phones, voices to which you are able to give a meaning. To create your own language, decoded and understood only by you. For you to repeat in the middle of noisy and hasty moments to bring you back to peace. To make you to hum a peaceful melody.

Wind:

-unpredictable nature, gusts, cooling wind, irregularity, direction. The bells interpret randomness - performing unpredictability, surprisingly. So very often, those bells chime together with another, so purely sounding companion. Even they are not alone.

Rippling:

-a touch to a joyful note of a tuned string, echoing from the table of an instrument. One sound. One chord. Single tones of a chord. A chord building up around you. You are in the chord, You are a component of the chord.  You are the chord.

With peaceful greetings, wishing you enjoyable moments,
